Thanks to Simon who went beyond the call of duty and donated from Calgary - Yeah Adventure Science!

Listened to Sarah's memorial speech for Jodie, her good friend who died of ovarian cancer last week. I watched the music video as well. Jodie seemed like a beautiful young woman. I'm sure she'll be missed terribly!

PLEASE READ COMMENT BELOW FROM SURVIVOR SCOTT BARKER.

  1. Tom,

First, from a soon to be cancer survivor, I’d like to congratulate you on a job well done so far. I will be frank, ‘cancer sucks!!!! Last year, I was lucky to be invited to take part in the pre-ride dinner and the pre-ride event on the morning of, from two very generous riders. I was scheduled for my last chemo treatment the Monday after the ride. I was amazed by the hard work and generosity of the people, riders and sponsors involved. The thing about cancer is, although it’s a wide spread disease, it’s a very personal one as well. I remember sitting at my table during dinner choking back the tears thinking these people are all here helping ME! That’s the beauty of what this ride does, it connects us fighting the disease in a personal way with you fighting to find a cure. Cancer gives people a different view on life; it has affected so many people in different ways. I’m proud to be a survivor, it has changed the way I live my life and it has opened my eyes to see the good in people such as you and your fellow riders. So I thank you and all of the people who take part in this event, it’s because all of you I am able to call myself a cancer survivor.

Good luck and God bless. I know your hard work will find the cure!

p.s I expect you to push Lance to his limits!
